I am so fortunate to work at The Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. Much of my work involves designing and facilitating training for education leaders. In addition to this work I lead workshops at events around the country where I get to meet amazing educators! Here are some of my workshops and recent conference presentations.
Workshops topics that I have designed and facilitated include:
Get Connected!
Using social media and other tools to connect yourself to educators from around the world is an effective way to grow professionally. During this session we will explore how web-based tools can enhance your personal learning network (PLN) and facilitate connections with educators worldwide.
Create More! Keys to Making Learning Stick
Digital tools can be powerful classroom tools if we allow students to use them to create products that demonstrate their understanding and mastery of concepts. During this session we will examine what research says “makes learning stick” and explore tools that can promote students creativity skills. (Both iPad and web based tools will be shared)
Voices From the Field: Tools for Sharing Our Stories With the World
Amazing things are happening in your classroom, but are you telling your story? Explore the critical importance of sharing our stories, how other educators are doing so, and the effect that is having on students. Come ask questions, share strategies, and learn about great tools that can help you get started. From simple to complex - the possibilities are endless!
The Future is Here! Using Augmented Reality in our Classrooms.
Is this something out of Star Trek? No, its Augment Reality! During this hands on sessions participants will explore the power of AR and brainstorm ways that it can be used in their school to engage students and bring learning to life!
